What it is
Veneers are thin ceramic facings, custom made in a laboratory, that are fixed to the front surface of teeth to improve their appearance and colour.
The tooth surface has to be trimmed to make room for the ceramic, so it's a decision to make carefully with your dentist.
Who it's for
Adults with healthy teeth and gums who are unhappy with the shape, colour or small gaps of their front teeth, where whitening or straightening alone wouldn't help.
What to expect
- A consultation to talk about what you'd like, and an examination to check veneers are right for you. Your dentist will also explain the alternatives.
- The teeth are prepared and impressions taken, then the veneers are made in the laboratory and fitted at a later visit.
