What it is
Sometimes a tooth can't be restored and needs to be taken out, because of pain or infection. We carry out most extractions here at the practice.
We can also remove minor, harmless skin or gum tags inside the mouth that are causing irritation.
Who it's for
Teeth that can't be repaired, and benign tags that are causing irritation.
Some particularly complex cases, such as some wisdom teeth, may need referral to a specialist. Any lesion that is unusual, or could be a sign of oral cancer, is always referred to a specialist.
What to expect
- Your dentist explains why the procedure is needed, what the alternatives are, and what it will cost.
- The area is numbed first. If you feel any discomfort, raise your hand and we'll stop.
- We'll give you written aftercare advice, and tell you who to call if you have any concerns afterwards.
